Thanksgiving, Smiles, and Giggles

Getting my first Christmas tree

I am very thankful for my Mommy

I love my Christmas tree

So, I've been fairly busy. With my mommy back at work and me going between my grandma's house and Miss Patti's house, I haven't had a lot of time to blog.
We had Thanksgiving at my Grandma Young's house this year. I got to try cereal the weekend before for the first time and I liked it, but then got sick later that day so Mommy and Daddy decided to wait until after the break to try it again. Thanksgiving day was fun...I even got my own chair at the table, although I feel like it was a little short. We put our Christmas tree up the next day and it's been slow getting it decorated. I got really sick so Mommy had to play nurse and Daddy was worried about me, so our tree was bare for a while. Now it has most of the ornaments up, including some of my very own! We celebrated my mom's 27th birthday recently and I got to stay with Grandma and Grandpa Young while Mommy and Daddy went to the Melting Pot. The next day, we went to Grandma Wulff's house for a "December birthdays" celebration. I really liked playing with Grandma's balloon and didn't want to give it up.
Recently I've been working on turning over, sitting, and "creeping". I'm good at rolling, I just don't like doing it. I'd rather Mommy or Daddy help me. Sitting is easier than I thought...as long as I keep my hand on my legs to prop me up. I almost tumbled off the couch the other day while Mommy's head was turned. I thought it was really funny!
I also love to laugh. Kiera (one of my dogs) cracks me up! All she has to do is walk by and I start laughing. Mommy is also really good at making me laugh.
I'm really excited for my first Christmas. I've asked for a few things such as a walker, a music table, and more teething toys. I sure hope Santa is good to me!

Fall!

Fall is SO great when you have fun people to share it with! I get to watch It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown with Daddy, prepare for my 1st Halloween, wear my UGG boots and my pink overalls, play peek-a-boo with Mommy, and read great books before bedtime! Being 4 months old is the best.

I'm growing

I'm getting SOOOO big!

Here I'm showing off how long I am.

I love hanging out it this crib...my grandma slept in it when she was a baby and so did my mommy! Grandma repainted it with Beatrix Potter characters before I was born.

Well I have been doing a lot recently. I'm almost 3 months old! My new favorite toys are my hands! I love to look at them and suck on my fingers. I'm starting to discover my toes too but I'm still having a hard time holding onto my feet. I also have learned to sit in my Bumbo. It is great because it is the perfect size "chair" for me! I like sitting in it while Mommy reads me stories. I am smiling a lot more now and even starting to giggle...daddy makes me laugh :-)
I'm a big mommy's girl and I am NOT happy that she is going to leave me to go back to work in three weeks. I think I might have a hard time getting used to being without my mommy during the day, but probably not as hard a time as mommy will have!
I really like to go shopping. There are so many neat things to look at and it is really great when Mommy buys me cute new clothes. I hope Daddy doesn't cancel her credit card when he sees how much she has spent on me! I will have to add more pictures later of the other things I've been up to this summer. Bye!

First trip

I've recently decided that bath time is not so bad, especially when Grandma Wulff comes to help! I also just came back from my first mini-vacation. Mommy, Daddy, and Grandma took me to Cleveland to meet my Great Grandma Wulff (Granny) and my mommy's cousin Meredith. Mom and Dad went to Mid-Ohio on Saturday while I hung out with Great Aunt Jan and Uncle Chris, Meredith, Granny, and Grandma. I was a very good girl and I really liked sitting in my moses basket in Jan and Chris's sunroom...it felt like I was outside! This week I'll be going with Mommy to her classroom since Grandma is going out of town. Summer has been fun!
Bath time is fun!

Enjoying Summer!

I'm really liking this summer season. It is warm and sunny and mom takes me on lots of fun walks. Today I went to church for the first time! I'm three weeks old and mommy thought that it was a good and safe time to take me out to meet lots of people. I got to wear a pretty dress my grandma Wulff's friend sent me from North Carolina. Then when we came home I cuddled with mom on the back deck. That is my favorite place...sitting with mommy in the rocking chair listening to the birds and neighbors. She always takes me out there when I fuss and I calm right down. I may be an out doors kind of gal! Here are some pictures of me (mom's favorites) from the past few weeks since I've been home.2 weeks old

I'm here!!

Hello all!! I am finally here! They decided that I was going to be too big to come naturally so the doctors decided to deliver me through a c-section. My mom was just so happy to have a final date for me to be here. The whole delivery process went well, except for the fact that I was evicted from my nice cozy home and I've been pretty upset about it ever since! I wowed everyone in the operating room with my size...10 pounds 3 oz. My mommy realized why she felt so huge and miserable the last few weeks of pregnancy. What can I say...she did a super job growing me :-) My daddy got to hold me while they sewed up mommy and then I got taken away to be checked and to get a bath. I like when they washed my hair. Then we got to stay in the hospital for 3 days with lots of people taking care of me and mommy and LOTS of fun visitors! Then we went home and mom and dad took over the duties of taking care of me. Boy have then been in for a ride! They say their favorite part is when I sleep...they love to snuggle with me then. But their least favorite part is my stinky diapers. I love to fill them up RIGHT when I am ready to fall asleep, then I get changed and I get all upset and awake again. I love sleeping on my daddy's chest more than anything in the world...well except for my bottle. Mommy thinks I'm the prettiest little (well, really big) baby she's ever seen. I love my family and I think I might like this whole "living on the outside" gig.

Not here yet!

They need to just give it up!  My mommy keeps trying to "heat" me out with all this spicy food.  So far it has been Indian curry chicken, Chipolte, Skyline with hot sauce, cajun shrimp, and spicy chicken from PF Changs.  She also snacks a lot on spicy pepper humus...does she not get that those things will not work on me?  Her friends keep giving her ideas, but I'm not budging.  One friend even sent her a "baby eviction notice"...rude!  If they all knew what great digs I've got in here, they wouldn't be so pushy.  I do feel bad because Mommy complains a lot about her painful swollen feet and hands, back pain, hip pain, and lots of other pains, but she is starting to sleep better now that she has found a new comfortable way to sleep in bed.  So maybe that means I can hang out in here a little longer :-)
Daddy is getting anxious too.  He keeps pushing on the top of Mom's belly to "help" me know which way to go.  He is so silly!  We celebrated Father's Day yesterday, even though I have not officially made my dad a "dad".  After church Mom and Dad went to the cemetery to see Grandpa Wulff's grave.  Mom told him that his granddaughter (thats me!) would be here soon. They also went to see Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Young's grave.  Then we all went home and while Daddy was cutting grass, Mom arranged his Father's Day gift and cards on the table for him as a surprise.  Later, Dad had his soccer game (which they won!) and then we went to Grandpa and Grandma Young's for dinner.  Mommy liked the icecream the best!
Well, Thursday is supposed to be my date for officially joining the family.  We will see!  Maybe next time I write, I'll be here...at least Mommy hopes so!

Getting Ready!!

I'm getting ready to make my debut into world!! I have about 3 1/2 weeks but I think my mom is a little hopeful that I will come a bit sooner than that. All I hear her complain about are her swollen feet! I have this feeling she is tired of lugging me around, but I like it in here. It's warm and safe and quiet and nobody bugs me. But, it is getting a little tight...I might have to start thinking about moving to bigger quarters. I can't wait to meet my dad. He likes to bother me by pushing on my mom's belly to get me to move around. Mom says he likes to pester. But I like him already...he says funny things to my mom all the time. He keeps saying he can't wait to watch the Red's games with me (I don't know what "Red's" are) and that he can't wait to put me in my little Red's outfit that Uncle Rob got me.
Well here are a couple of things about me:
-My favorite foods (according to Mom because this is what she craves) are peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, any kind of pasta, and icecream!!
-My favorite pastimes are hiccuping about 3-4 times per day and flexing my arms and legs to the delight of my dad who loves to see Mom's tummy rise up about 2 inches.
-I think my favorite colors are blue and pink (well, at least that is what my new room colors are)
-I have 2 dogs that I'm excited to meet. Although, I've heard that this "Oliver" fellow is not sure if he is going to like me. Already Mom is pushing him off her everytime he hops onto her belly which I don't think he likes.
Thats all for now! Hopefully next time you hear from me, I'll be hanging out with my new family on the outside :-)
